Anyone tell me how to get Bein sports mena channels on the xbmc
I have been looking for an addon that does this, so far I have not found anything. Do you have a subscription? The app seems to work on my Minix x8-h plus after FW004 but I can only test the one free channel provided. The app seems okay even though it get's horrible reviews on the play store. Won't go for a subscription until I get some confirmation that the football channels work on FW004.
I have a subscription but I am waiting for 004 to be released for my X8-H in order to test this. Will let you know.
Thought I'd pitch in here and confirm that I am able to load Bein Sports Mena app on the latest official firmware 004A/Minix 8X-H Plus. You can get by with the video quality, somewhat on the SD level.. Audio is available in English and Arabic and all channels are viewable.
However, I noticed that the fullscreen view option isn't working properly as I have a 52" Samsung TV and there are 5" black bars on the left, right and bottom portion of the stream.
2400kbps max. should be better than "SD".
picture size maybe you could adjust by pressing the "p.size" key on the TV remote.
Thanks for your suggestion Ken but that didn't help. I am able to view the stream in hd quality on my smartphone and via a web browser.. I also have a 50Mbps internet connection so bandwidth isn't an issue. TV and minix box are manually set to 1080p 50Hz.
On your Minix do you see bitrate/resolution switches as seen in this YouTube video? http://minixforum.com/threads/bugtracker-official-x8-x8plus-x8-h-004a-fw.5568/page-8#post-51207 There is a longer pause before the switch to the max. bitrate (2400kbps).
2400kbps is not an adequate bitrate for high motion contents like sports. I haven't yet checked what the actual resolution is at the max. streaming bitrate. YouTube recommends 8 Mbps for 1080p videos and 2.5Mbps for 480p. Netflix 1080p is 4.3 - 5.8Mbps. On a smaller screen 2400kbps streaming might look good, but on a bigger screen even in HD resolution the picture quality isn't going to be great with 2400kbps bitrate.
