    @MINIX - Ken ....Kodi aside what is the purpose of the HDMI self adaption settings in the U9-H as it does not appear to do anything ...at least for me ?

    I'm aware of the deinterlace issues with live TV with MediaCodec (Surface) rendering and Kodi 17.x. Are there other major MediaCodec related issues in Kodi 17.x?

    Based on my testing so far, self-adaption level 2 seems to adjust for fractional refresh rates (23.976/29.97/59.94) only for amcodec rendering. It doesn't seem to work with MediaCodec (Surface) rendering. I don't know whether it is doing anything even if it doesn't switch the refresh rate.

    I have seen refresh rate switching with HDMI self-adaption (level 2) work for: MoviePlayer, MX Player and Showtime. It doesn't seem to work for Netflix, HBO and even YouTube.

    hmm...i cant see that HDMI self-adaption works (level 1 0r 2) with Movie Player, MX Player etc ....certainly the clip we tried
    (Oblivion.clip.UltraHD.BluRay.2160p.HDR.HEVC.BT2020.Multi.DTS-HD MA.mkv) , which is 23.976fps is still shown to be playing on my TV at 60fps and no switching occurs.

    ...am i missing something....some other setting i should be applying somewhere ?

    No, that's the only setting. I was trying the two clips yesterday night and I am quite sure that I was seeing the refresh rate being switched in MoviePlayer, MX Player, Kodi, SPMC, Vimu (expected for the last three apps). I will try it again tonight and confirm that it is indeed switching refresh rate.

    switching wouldn't work if the video is encrypted or the stream doesn't provide the necessary fps data.

    It doesn't work with YouTube, those are not encrypted.

    It also works with encrypted streams on boxes from the Slovenian company. In their implementation the frame rate is calculated from frame duration in amports.

    Noted, we shall keep improving things.
    BUT, we are wondering how can it to determine frame rate just by calculation,
    for very small rate differences like 59.940/60.000Hz & 23.976/24.000Hz.

    Amazon Apps (like Amazon Video, Amazon Music and Amazon Shoping) lost login.
    Since some weeks, the Amazon Apps lost the login and don't remember me. I tried to figure a out, how I could force that. But I can't. Sometimes I'm still logged in after the box was fully shutdown - sometimes not.
    And right now, I watched something. Left Amazon Video to look for something in Chrome. Returned and bang... please enter Email, Password and 2-factor Code.

    OMG - that sucks.

    I can't see how that is a firmware bug?!
    Amazon shopping app appears to working just fine for me!

    4 weeks ago I reported it to AMZ. They can't confirm that.
    I run parallel daily an android tablet. No issue.
    I will switch to U1 tomorrow for some days to crosscheck.

    BTW i already reinstalled all Amazon apps and also cleaned my device list.

    Iam not getting a full screen on certain apps like cm lite and TPcamera app on my tv. It only displays the video on middle of the tv screen. Is there a setting to have a full screen?
