    Take note what @Higgs said, this is used quite extensively with Android apps! If in doubt always try it if you can't find another way. (y)
    Eventually it becomes quite instinctive! :)

    Yea, I've obviously got some brushing up to do on this.

    Pleased to report complete success with moving the xml file to keymaps, and the back button works a treat. Again, many thanks toVilla for being so patient with an old geezer and to everybody else who's chipped in. Now for a bit of swatting @Higgs - no relation of the boson I suppose?

    hi, neo u1 needs this guide?

    The guide is for the A2/A2 Lite when used with xbmc/kodi, regardless of which box you are using.

    Does someone of you know why the App button of A2lite remote (the one over playpause) doesn't work on Minix Neo U1 and Minix-XBMC?
    While the remote is connected to a Win PC it works properly (a signal is sent and its keyboard keymap is F1, verified by KeyboardTest sw), when it is connected to Minix it doesn't work both on Minix GUI and on Minix-XBMC instead.
    I checked the kodi.log and no entries are there after pressing that button. It sounds like Minix and Minix-XBMC don't "listen to" that signal

    Any idea?

    That button appears to only work from Metro Launcher.

    You are right...
    do you have any idea how to use it in kodi for screenshot purpose? I can't try a smart keys combination to make screenshot action working by the a2lite remote.

    The ALT and CTRL buttons are not available on the remote, the SHIFT button can't be used alone as modificator in keyboard.xml line entry, the "longpress" modificator doesn't work on a2lite remote (I've already tried unsuccessfully).
    How can someone do for having a no conventional shortcut (no single letter I mean) for screenshot action in order not to interfere with normal typing? :(
    Note: I don't want to use the system screenshot action because it cuts the lower side of screen

    Thanks, worked a dream. I did it in both minix xbmc and kodi and worked in both.

    after loading a keymapping to sort my back button, its now stopped my menu button from working. ive tried adding the following bold lines to see if that brings back the menu button with no joy. can any nice person help me out ?

    Code:
    <keymap>
      <global>
        <keyboard>
          <backspace>Back</backspace>
          <key id='61467'>Back</key>
          <backspace>Menu</backspace>
          <key id='0xf091'>Menu</key>
        </keyboard>
      </global>
      <FullscreenVideo>
        <keyboard>
          <backspace>Back</backspace>
          <backspace>Menu</backspace>
        </keyboard>
      </FullscreenVideo>
    </keymap>

    What keymapping did you load since the bold text has been converted to regular text? and have you been using the Keymap Editor because that saves to a different file called gen.xml
    You've been looking at the Minix A2 kodi wiki entry haven't you. Do you have a Minix A2 or a Minix A2 Lite because the keycodes differ.
    Are you running xbmc on a minix android device or something else.
    The safest thing to do would be to remove all keymapping files from Android/data/hk.minix.xbmc/files/.xbmc/userdata/keymaps and start again.
    However to correct what you've got here.

    Minix A2
    Code:
    <keymap>
      <global>
        <keyboard>
          <backspace>Back</backspace>
          <key id='61467'>Back</key>
          <F2>Menu</F2>
          <key id='61585'>Menu</key>
        </keyboard>
      </global>
      <FullscreenVideo>
        <keyboard>
          <backspace>Back</backspace>
          <F2>Menu</F2>
          <key id='61585'>Menu</key>
        </keyboard>
      </FullscreenVideo>
    </keymap>
    Minix A2 Lite
    Code:
    <keymap>
      <global>
        <keyboard>
          <backspace>Back</backspace>
          <key id='61467'>Back</key>
          <F2>Menu</F2>
          <key id='61656'>Menu</key>
        </keyboard>
      </global>
      <FullscreenVideo>
        <keyboard>
          <backspace>Back</backspace>
          <F2>Menu</F2>
          <key id='61656'>Menu</key>
        </keyboard>
      </FullscreenVideo>
    </keymap>
    Some suspicions I have about xbmc on different hardware.
    On Android boxes key names (e.g. F2) aren't recognised, you have to use key codes.
    On linux boxes such as ubuntu or raspberry pi key names are recognised.

    Just wanted to confirm that this works for the NGC-1 running windows 10.
    Import file extension: C:\Program Files (x86)\Kodi\system\keymaps

    It should work but the keymap location should probably be in your kodi userdata folder not the system folder.

    I must admit, it did seem like an odd file directory to copy the keymap file into. It does work in the system directory but the link you provided seems more appropriate. thanks
