Just saved a board by shorting the TP13 & TP15 pins

Just an interesting story to share.

Do not attempt the same procedures if you're not an expert.

One of my many many boards refused to go flashing after I left it aside for months.

Then one idea came to my mind: Um... the eMMC is probably corrupted/locked up for some reasons.

So I opened the case and took the board out,

then I power it up and short PIN TP13 & TP15 together with a metallic paper clip (a conductor).
(During the design stage we have reserved these pins on purpose.)

And YES! It did the trick, now flashing is OK and the board is alive again~

I have a unit that powers on (blue light on) but no video. I tried updating fw via usb burning tool and it gets up to 2% and then I hear the usb disconnect sound and I get the same error as you have in the picture (0x10205002)
Now when you say short the pins, do you have one end of the paper clip to TP13 & the other end to TP15?
I tried holding a paperclip on them and powering on.
but same result in usb burning tool.
Do they need to be shorted the entire flashing process?

Or does anyone have any other way to try and revive her.

Looks like my 15 month old X8-H has gone the same way. Working fine on 006 FW then......nothing! Tried flashing using USB burning tool and USB zip method. No luck either way.
    Anything else you suggest?
Ps log files for burning tool attached.thanks and regards

Also have a 15 month old 8-h that looks like its died tried the above but no luck, also tried flashing using USB burning tool and USB zip method.
Anything else i can try before i bin it and move on to something else.

Looks like it's for the bin mate. I've tried everything without any luck. Replacing the Emmc and getting someone reliable to do it in the UK is difficult. You can buy the Samsung Emmc for about USD 15.00 on EBay bud.

Thanks azcargo, like you i have pretty much tried everything to get it back working but with no luck, really is a shame having to bin it after only a little over 12 month. After this experience think i will be going for a cheaper box, the mind set i'm in now i don't think its worth paying out for a premium brand box that only lasts 14 months.

What?! A little bit of assistance rather than throwing your toys out of the pram would be a little more positive now wouldn't it
Have a look at my previous posts when all I've done is promote Minix yet when I require assistance, I don't receive a reply.

    Hi Ken
Can you please explain when to short the pins TP13 & TP15 is it when the USB burning tool is flashing ?
Another question in the USB burning tool picture i see that the box RESET AFTER SUCCESS is ticked.
Can you please give me an explanation how the process is done ?

Thank you for the help :)
