Tht is the version I had before on FW005 and it do not work on FW006
This one DOES work on FW006, but I would like Minix to pinpoint the real reason why it's not working
and what can be done about it.
Is it really the boot loader not being locked or something else?
Can Minix supply a way to lock and unlock the boot loader just to make apps happy that require it?
Netflix should not care about the locking. I am still paying for the service!
It is not a MINIX issue but rather a Netflix issue. Many Android boxes cannot download from the play store. This is why there is an offer of an alternative Netflix app.
Any joy with these?
Yes the side loaded one from Netflix does work.
Vision is a subjective perception. If you don't perceive any difference between the different modes, you can leave it at what you think is the best. With that said, you will certainly see a difference between 4:4:4 and 4:2:0 chroma subsampling when it comes to non-video content (think text).
Thanks, I'll do some more visual comparisons. I never looked specifically at the text. But the graphic and color portion of the movies/videos show no difference in saturation and color. I do play mostly 4k movies. And it may just be my SUHD TV.
You are unlikely to see a difference with video because they are all 4:2:0 (at least the mainstream/commercial ones) to begin with. My reference was to text in GUI, web browser etc.
stretch 16:9 option via playback in Kodi isn't working.... same thing with the : minimize black bars in the main video option of kodi
(no effect of choosing the mentioned above).
aside from that , great improvement in picture quality playback via any video app.
truly big thanks for everyone involved...
I just tried stretch and I see a difference when checking minimize black bars, although I only play native. What KODI version and addon build or addon are you using?
just simply using the preinstalled kodi...
with Kodi 16.1 it's fine , but unfortunately it's not with version 17.2
I've never had this issue with firmware 005 (in which the stretch 16:9 option in the preinstalled Kodi is working as intended).
Well first off many addons will not update or function properly in KODI 16.1. I would uninstall KODI 16.1 and install the latest version 17.3 stable.
As firmware versions and programs are updated, certain older apps can cause issues. This is why it is always good to stay up to date.
obviously you didn't get what i was talking about....
Obviously you didn't get what I was talking about as well. You are using an old version of KODI. Even thought some patched versions of 16 are working, you may experience anomalies with the new firmware, using an older version.
