    Okay, my X8 Plus not a octa core but with the settings as suggested in the Kodi-wiki
    kodi recently crashed. For fast caching i set my anvancedsettings to this:

    >buffermode<>2<
    >cachemembuffersize><69750304< (around the half of the size what they suggest)
    >readbufferfactor<>10<

    buffermode anything above then 2 resulted not in a faster read-ahead.
    the mem buffer size greater then the here showned caused kodi to crash
    as even a read factor over 10.

    You have to play a bit with your settings because they affect from the speed of your internet
    connection and the latency of your home network.

    Hello, how do I insert these instructions into the easyadvancedsetting plugin?

    <Advancedsettings>
    <Video>
    <Adjustrefreshrate>
    <Override>
    <Fpsmin> 24.99 </ fpsmin>
    <Fpsmax> 25.01 </ fpsmax>
    <Refreshmin> 24.99 </ refreshmin>
    <Refreshmax> 25.01 </ refreshmax>
    </ Override>
    </ Adjustrefreshrate>
    </ Video>
    </ Advancedsettings>

    it would be far easier to edit the advancedsettings.xml file manually yourself.

    The way i would do it is to copy the file to my PC , edit it with Notepad ++, and then send it back to the minix overwriting the existing file.
    You would need to restart Kodi/xbmc to have it take effect.

    Can you explain better? How do I create the file and how do I insert it in advancedsettings.xml?

    1st off do you already have an advanced settings file and why and what are you trying to achieve with the instructions you have presented you wish to insert ?

    HI there - I am using perfect player and am experiencing a lot of buffer problems. It is not broadband speed related as perfect player works perfectly on my nvidia shield. I have a mini u9-h. How and where do I copy these advanced settings to - sorry for the noob question. Thanks for the help

    These advanced settings are for Kodi.

    It appears a lot of users are complaining about perfect player buffering. The author states there is plenty of buffer setup and suggests using a different decoder, check internet speed, and go to android settings/apps and flush perfect player cache. Maybe choose another player?

    Hello Higgs, I hope you do not mind another question about this!
    I was trying to follow this thread to add Frederick's XML file to our U9-H. Please could you explain where to find the "userdata" folder?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hello Villa, many thanks for the quick reply:
    "Enable Show hidden files in ES File Explorer then navigate to here...
    Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata"
    I would never have found it!
    Will give it a try later.
    Thanks again.

    To get the optimal settings just add the ares-repo in your sources. The ares wizard have an option
    to get for any device the optimal settings and writes the advancedsettings.xml. GOTCHA!! :D

    With buffermode 1 315MB caché and readbufferfactor 10 even the clogged U-9 works flawless.

    Ares is dead now :(

    Yeah, here is mine, which is basically the same as Frederick_99's, just a couple of tweaks, and it works just great here.

    All good and dandy, with cherry covered roses and plum candy :D

    I am new to this game and originally picked up a Fire Stick for my other place up north with a 40mb connection and it works "ok" but down south with only 10mb connection the u9 continually buffers to the point of being unusable. Question #1..... is 10mb enough???

    My plan today is to hard wire the U9 to my Archer C8 router to see if that helps but what I really want to do is set up the cache space to the maximum amount of space on the U9. When I pause a TV show right now the progression bar at the bottom does not indicate the show is buffering into the unit.
    Question#2...... can someone point me to the instructions on how to install the above .xml file and will this help my situation?

    Thanks for any advice in advance

    Drop the file into:

    Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/

    Make sure 'show hidden files' is enabled in whatever file manager you are using.

    1.:
    I think 10Mbit is too slow, i prefer as possible always wired connections for my intranet appliances. W-lan is limited to 50 Mbit speed.
    And wireless lan have a range limit of 30 Meters by free view of one device to the next, thru walls its often reduced to 5-10 Meter range.

    2.:
    First install the super repo and the advancedxml settings app, exit Kodi then launch Kodi again and change the settings with the app.
    Add srp.nu/ and #srp in the sources in Kodi. Exit Kodi, then reopen Kodi again. There you go!

    Villa, i can not add here links for examples, whats wrong?!

    in my view that is such bad advice.....superrepo is is known to contain crap and outdated addons that are not updated frequently.....you are far better to install repos from their original sources.

    You can view, edit, write, or create advanced settings XML files using the program add-on "Easy Advanced Settings".

    Add this source: http://toptutorialsrepo.co.uk/kodi
    Then install from zip file the "easyadvancedsettings.zip" located inside the "Maintenance" folder (not the Builds or Repos folders).

    Every Kodi build should include this tool, imo. Good luck!
