    Dear all,

    Please note this is NOT an update guide.

    This is a guide for those to get back the Android system after removing it/lost it/bricked it for some reasons:
    Download from MINIX server;
    http://minix.com.hk/downfile/Z64 reflash Android OS.docx
    Download from Forum Server;
    http://www.minixforum.com/downloads/download.php?file=Z64-reflash-Android-OS.docx

    Firmware image needed to create the recovery USB stick:
    Download from MINIX server;
    http://minix.com.hk/firmware/minix-z64-20150307_UEFI.rar
    Download from Forum Server;
    http://www.minixforum.com/downloads/download.php?file=minix-z64-20150307_UEFI.rar

    Team MINIX.

    Thank you. Same question here, where do I find the .img file? I have downloaded the update.zip but there are 3 different .img data in there. Is it one of these? (boot.img, esp.img, fastboot.img)

    Best regards

    Thanks, but that is the complete update.zip file instead the ota update.zip
    That is not the same thing that Ken provided in this doc. Differences are that this one has the complete update instead the incremental update.
    We are asking for the .IMG file to restore the full internal emmc. Without a working android system.
    We (The Nitro Team) made a USB live to backup and restore the full emmc, but the process is slow because we clone and compress the full emmc to an sdcard to backup, and uncompress and clone from an sdcard to emmc to restore.
    It would be great if Ken can provide users a simpler way to restore to an initial state.
    Thanks anyway for your help :)

    The procedure that Ken has provided is the official Intel method - https://01.org/android-ia/guides/android-4.x-kitkat-bring-guide

    Of course, the installer image file has to be provided. OTA update file cannot be used for this.

    Yes that the live usb we made for that purpose, we are working in the V2 with a more friendly GUI, but if we can got other way it will be welcomed, and it could be great to be restore at a fully initial state.
    Take care about upload the backups files without a factory reset and erase the /sdcard/ folder, because it is a mirror of the full internal memory so personal data or google account settings will be there.
    It can be used in the z64W too, with the same limitations.
    The full backup and restore of the internal memory will last a lot so be patient with it ;)

    Please use a download tool, this is common sense when you download a large file...

    I tried to decompress the rar file to get the image file, but it needs a password.

    Whats the password for it?
