SOLVED - Please help! X8-H crashes after selecting source in XBMC/Exodus

    Hi,

I upgraded to the latest Firmware 009 (20160324) and the accompanying latest XBMC.

When I select any source to stream from the Exodus or Specto-Fork apps within XBMC, the X8-H device turns off and I get a "No Signal" on my TV.

When I press the power button, it returns to the same screen as if nothing happened.

Weird, what could the relationship possibly be between an apparent XBMC error and the device stopping the HDMI output signal?

This didn't happen before the upgrade, but then again, I'm trying Exodus and SpectoFork to the first time after the firmware upgrade.

    Thanks!

If this is happening when a video starts then it is likely the auto-refresh rate switching. Normally it should select the correct refresh rate within a few seconds but if it doesn't then its possible your TV doesn't support the switching.
In that case you can switch it off in Minix settings.

Ok, so I fixed it. When you said "auto-refresh rate switching" it reminded me that I had changed some XBMC video configuration settings from their defaults, so I changed them back to the following:
    System > Video > Playback
I returned "Adjust display refresh rate" to "Off"
I returned "Sync playback to display" to "Off"

    Thanks Higgs!
