Hi first time post so bare with me. Have bought the minix neo u1. Great box but I have a problem with the screen going blank for a second and then comes back in green. I can still see the picture through the green. I never loose the sound. I tried two different HDMI cables but still have the problem. Have tried using the three hdmi ports on the TVs but still have the problem. Since the last update it doesn't seem to happen as often. Have others experienced this problem and if so can anyone shed some light on a solution or do I need to return the box.

If I plug out the hdmi cable at the TVs and plug back in it rectifies it. Can't keep doing that .

Which TV with which HDMI version?

    I think it''s because of the refresh-rate-switch...

How do I check which HDMI version. The TVs is Philips. I had a T8 box running on same TV with no problem. Thanks for reply

Phillips is a little bit less information... maybe also a model/type designation?
I ask because I know one other situation here at the forum with a TV with HDMI 1.3 which also has the "green screen" problem...

    It's one of these ,42PFL7864H/12. 42PFL7404H/12. 42PFL5624H/12. 42PFL5604H/12
It's says resolution - refresh rate
    720p - 50Hz,60Hz
    1080i - 50Hz,60Hz
    1080p - 24Hz,25Hz,30Hz,50Hz,60Hz

    Hope this information helps

My old box worked on 720-60Hz

hmmm, you can fix it in this way that you disable the "Self-adaptive refresh rate switching" => http://www.minixforum.com/threads/self-adaptive-refresh-rate-switching.9531/
but this is one of the most important benefits of the MINIX box that the refresh rate eg. at a movie with 23.976fps automatically will be set to 24p at the box/TV (if the TV supports it) because that's the best way to be (micro)stutter-free...

I don't think the "Self-adaptive refresh rate switching" will help at YOUR situation (it was for Vitalit who pirates this thread ;) )

It sounds like he/she have the same problem also with an old philips with HDMI 1.3 http://www.minixforum.com/threads/new-u1-arrived-day-1.9960/#post-80498

My TV is 42PFL5604H/12 HDMI 1.3. Checked this evening. I set the neo at 720 -60Hz but still got the green screen. You can see the picture through the green then the screen flicks and it's ok again.???

If I change minix screen resolution or with standby button the green/Pink screen dissappear but returns in a few minutes. I'm thinking to return my Neo U1 and buy a X8-H plus.

It's a shame. The box works very well and I wouldn't change it for a TV HDMI issue. If the others MINIX works correctly I hope the issue will be correct with any bug fixing.

I don't know anything about the HDMI implementation at the S905 but I can remember this problem also exists at the rk3288 which also use HDMI 2.0 and rk talk at there datasheet about support for HDMI 1.4 and 2.0...
Maybe, if the Minix Neo X8-H (+?) really works without any problem at the older Philips with HDMI 1.3, you should really use the X8 and resell the U1 eg. at ebay...
The X8 is stable and bug free (nearly 100% because 100% will never be possible ;) )

With Minix Neo X8-H runs perfect in my TV Philips one year, but my minix X8-H died. And last month I was thinking about to buy a Neo X8-H + , a Neo U1 or a Neo Z64 Android or Windows. Finally I decided to buy a Minix Neo U1 with AirMouse. But it have this HDMI problem. I would like install a fix in my Minix Neo U1 but there isn't at this moment and I can return my Neo U1 , not selling at eBay, I just purchased about 15 days. I'll try to ask to Minix official support.
