    Hello,

    First, excuse me for my english...

    I have a Minix U1 with the last firmwire and I use SPMC 17.6a2.

    I have one problem for the capacity because 12 Go is little for all my Thumbnails.
    So I have buy a USB 2.0 of 64 Gb.

    And now I try to do a pathsubstitution for it but It seems to don't work....

    Code:
    <video>
      <excludefromscan>
      <regexp>-trailer</regexp>
      <regexp>[!-._ \\/]sample[-._ \\/]</regexp>
      <regexp>[-\._ ](extrafanart|trailer|extrathumbs)[-\._ ]</regexp>
      </excludefromscan>
      <excludefromlisting>
      <regexp>[-._ \\/](extrafanart|trailer|extrathumbs)[-._ \\/]</regexp>
      </excludefromlisting>
      <excludefromscan action="append">
      <regexp>/extras/</regexp>
      <regexp>[\\/]extras[\\/]</regexp>
      </excludefromscan>
      <excludetvshowsfromscan action="append">
      <regexp>/extras/</regexp>
      <regexp>[\\/]extras[\\/]</regexp>
      </excludetvshowsfromscan>
    </video>

    <pathsubstitution>
      <substitute>
      <from>special://masterprofile/Thumbnails</from>
      <to>I don't know whet to exactely put here ?</to>
      </substitute>
    </pathsubstitution>

    I try ....
    /storage/udisko/thumbnails
    /udisko/Thumbnails

    I try too.... :

    Code:
    <video>
      <excludefromscan>
      <regexp>-trailer</regexp>
      <regexp>[!-._ \\/]sample[-._ \\/]</regexp>
      <regexp>[-\._ ](extrafanart|trailer|extrathumbs)[-\._ ]</regexp>
      </excludefromscan>
      <excludefromlisting>
      <regexp>[-._ \\/](extrafanart|trailer|extrathumbs)[-._ \\/]</regexp>
      </excludefromlisting>
      <excludefromscan action="append">
      <regexp>/extras/</regexp>
      <regexp>[\\/]extras[\\/]</regexp>
      </excludefromscan>
      <excludetvshowsfromscan action="append">
      <regexp>/extras/</regexp>
      <regexp>[\\/]extras[\\/]</regexp>
      </excludetvshowsfromscan>
    </video>

    <pathsubstitution>
      <substitute>
      <from>/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.semperpax.spmc17/files/.spmc/userdata/Thumbnails</from>
      <to>/storage/udisk0/Thumbnails</to>
      </substitute>
    </pathsubstitution>

    (but for this last, The ' O ' betweeen emulated and Android is well a ZERO ? )

    But It doesn't work, I put over the Thumbnails folder,
    and the "Myvideoxx.db", "Textures13.db" for restart of zero,
    After I start again my Android and go to SPMC, edit source again but All the image come back on the Android....

    Please help me....

    Thanks !!

    PS: I see this : http://www.minixforum.com/threads/u1-micro-sd-memory-card-max.16194/

    It seems to be OK.
    Are you sure of your external sdcard name ?
    Can you check it with ES explorer ?
    You must be sure you can write on it...

    For the external sdcard, when I go into spmc, it's the way for ...

    /storage/udisk0/Thumbnails

    And I have put my USB in NTFS...

    But in my post I explain a lot of possibility but Is it a better that another? ANd for the question of the '0' is it well a ZERO ?

    Thanks

    Hello,

    I come back because I don't want to root and I'd really like to use pathsubstitution...

    My first problem is that I don't now the good way for my USB on Minix U1 because one time he say me udisk0 and the other time when i do power again udisk1 !!

    I just want to know if somebody here have à MinixU1 and use a pathsubstiution on USB and if yes what's the way ?

    I try a lot but no result

    <pathsubstitution>
    <substitute>
    <from>special://masterprofile/Thumbnails</from>
    or <from>special://profile/Thumbnails/</from>
    or <from>/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/Thumbnails/</from>

    <to>/storage/udisk1/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/Thumbnails/</to>
    or <to>/storage/udisk0/Thumbnails</to>
    or <to>udisk0/Thumbnails/</to>
    or <to>smb://192.168.---.---/Kodi/Thumbnails</to>
    </substitute>
    </pathsubstitution>

    I'm with last firmwire and Kodi Krypton.

    Please help me . Thanks a lot by advance ;)

    I come back again, because I buy a sdcard because I believ first It was because of the way for udisko or udisk1 who always change....

    So, I put the sdcard in the Minix, I go into the explorer and I see sdcard is called sdcard1, and so I make a same way on the sdcard and write for pathsubstitution :

    Code:
    <pathsubstitution>
      <substitute>
        <from>/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/Thumbnails/</from>
        <to>/storage/sdcard1/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/Thumbnails/</to>
      </substitute>
     </pathsubstitution>

    Don't work... So I write :

    Code:
    <pathsubstitution>
      <substitute>
        <from>special://profile/Thumbnails/</from>
        <to>/storage/sdcard1/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/Thumbnails/</to>
      </substitute>
     </pathsubstitution>

    Don't work, after, I go again in the explorer and when I go in the Thumbnails for Kodi on the Minix :
    /storage/sdcard/Android.....
    at the place of
    /storage/emulated/0/Android....
    and for the sdcard
    /storage/sdcard1/Android....

    so I test with :

    Code:
    <pathsubstitution>
      <substitute>
        <from>/storage/sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/Thumbnails/</from>
        <to>/storage/sdcard1/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/Thumbnails/</to>
      </substitute>
     </pathsubstitution>

    Don't work anyway, so I test with only created Thumbnails direct on sdcard1

    Code:
    <pathsubstitution>
      <substitute>
        <from>special://profile/Thumbnails/</from>
        <to>/storage/sdcard1/Thumbnails/</to>
      </substitute>
     </pathsubstitution>

    Nothing again.....

    Last test because perhaps not directely on the racine

    Code:
    <pathsubstitution>
      <substitute>
        <from>special://profile/Thumbnails/</from>
        <to>/storage/sdcard1/Kodi/Thumbnails/</to>
      </substitute>
     </pathsubstitution>

    Don't workkkkkkkk, arfff I don't understand .............
    I forgot to say : My advancedsettings.xml is well on the userdata of Kodi near passwords.xml, guisettings.xml ans others... :

    Code:
    <video>
      <excludefromscan>
        <regexp>-trailer</regexp>
        <regexp>[!-._ \\/]sample[-._ \\/]</regexp>
        <regexp>[-\._ ](extrafanart|trailer|extrathumbs)[-\._ ]</regexp>
      </excludefromscan>
      <excludefromlisting>
          <regexp>[-._ \\/](extrafanart|trailer|extrathumbs)[-._ \\/]</regexp>
      </excludefromlisting>
      <excludefromscan action="append">
          <regexp>/extras/</regexp>
          <regexp>[\\/]extras[\\/]</regexp>
      </excludefromscan>
      <excludetvshowsfromscan action="append">
          <regexp>/extras/</regexp>
          <regexp>[\\/]extras[\\/]</regexp>
      </excludetvshowsfromscan>
    </video>
    <pathsubstitution>
      <substitute>
        <from>special://profile/Thumbnails</from>
        <to>----------------------</to>
      </substitute>
    </pathsubstitution>

    Between every tests, I erase Thumbnails , videodb , and textures of Kodi, and start again Minix....

    So :
    Question 1 : Is my advancedsettings well writed with the line for 'extras' and after the pathsubstitution ???
    Question 2 : Is the good way for the advancedsettings ? In the userdata ?
    Question 3 : WTF with storage/emulated/0/Android who become storage/sdcard/Android for the HD of the Minix.

    I don't understand what I wrong do ... Please Help me ..............

    @Jason777
    Does your advancedsettings.xml file start with <advancedsettings> and end with </advancedsettings>?
    Take a look at the Kodi log to check if the advanced settings are being loaded correctly - look near the start for mentions of advancedsettings.

    another option is to add
    <splash>false</splash>

    to your advancedsettings.xml

    if you dont see the normal " Kodi" start screen then you know your advancedsettings.xml file is being initiated.
