Don't have a link mate, didn't follow instructions, it's just something I tried while ago that worked. I'll try and outline it briefly.

    1) Get root
    2) Install xPosed
    3) Install module called "Device Faker"
    4) Run device faker and spoof a different hardware type to your box.

I've tested 4.4.2 Nexus 7 and 4.4.2 HTC One profiles and both offer the 1080p option in the Youtube app.

    It definately does work.

If you go to Settings - About MBox is all of the OS information there relevant to whatever device you spoofed?

I just noticed it also supports 60fps

no model number is still NEO-X8-H.. maybe cause its a custom rom by finless? i just go to device faker, select the nexus 7 4.4.2 and press apply and it says "info has been changed some apps may need reset."

Have you installed xposed and activated the device faker module and then reboot?

This is the reason it isn't working at the moment though.

yes it was already rooted, i installed xposed installer and then xposed framework and then from modules i found device faker and installed from play store. then applied nexus 7, rebooted and still neo x8h on about mediabox..

Did you put a tick in the box for device faker under the "Modules" section in xposed?

Sorry if you have already, that's the only thing I can think that might stop it working. Don't think it will be related to your custom ROM though.

ok it was the tick, now i can see nexus 7 in about media box. but still only up until 360p in latest youtube app. and up until 720p in version 10.37.58

Hmm, It's working here on Youtube version 10.43.60 (latest from Play store), not sure what to suggest to be honest mate.

Unless your ROM is holding you back in some way. I've tested this both on X8-H Plus 007 and tonight flashed to 007A. Works just fine with both ROMS.

Yep! with the latest version (10.43.60) you can get 1080p.

    How?
Personally it doesn't bother me, but as some are reporting it isn't working for them, myself included, I would like to know why?

If someone can point in the direction of a true 1080p video on You Tube then maybe the option will appear.

I have searched for full HD 1080p test videos and do not get the option!

frankie1080p videos are proper 1080p mate.

when spoofed to certain devices I get the 1080p and 60fps option, minix box don't like that too much but 720p 60fps is sweet.

If you search for "1080p", the first video, "Planet Earth: Amazing nature scenery" by Robert Revolv has 1080p option. All the previews in "movies" channel also have 1080p option. If you are not getting 1080p option with these, probably Google servers are not yet updated in your region. May be it has been rolled out only in the U.S. now.

    That's what I was thinking!

Only some reporting it working aren't in the US.

Tried using a VPN to see if that would make a difference, but no!
